On February 24, 2022, Russia mobilized a large-scale military invasion of Ukraine. This conflict is drawing global attention on the nation’s suffering. In August, music producer Darcy Ataman and photographer Jason Willheim traveled to Lviv, Ukraine for nine days to connect with musicians and artists whose lives have been decimated by the current conflict.
Darcy Ataman is an award-winning music and video producer. As founder and CEO of Make Music Matter, Darcy has dedicated his efforts towards bringing an alternate form of music therapy to survivors of conflict and trauma. He developed the innovative Healing in Harmony program in partnership with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Denis Mukwege, and it is currently running in eight countries around the world.
Jason Willheim is a photographer and video director who seeks to make each of his photographs a powerful visual statement. Based in Los Angeles, he’s always prepared to explore the globe and has shot in Kenya, South Africa, Borneo, Moscow, China, France and Italy. “I’m completely fascinated by people who pursue something just
because they love it…doing it out of pure passion.”
